Vasti Karma is a particular treatment method in which drugs are injected into the body via lower channels, most frequently through the anus. It removes the built-up poisons from the entire body. When medications are given through a different channel, such as the urethra or the vagina, the process is known as Uttara vasti. Vasti is often used to alleviate vata dosha, but it can also have tridoshahara characteristics and result in samsodhana or shamana effects. Additionally, it is quite helpful in rejuvenating treatments, particularly during recovery. Anuvasana Vasti is a form of oil enema therapy. Vata is largely found in the colon, and this therapy revitalizes the lower digestive system. In the beginning, the patient receives vigorous lower abdomen massages to help the body release toxins and get ready for the detox process.
